I Wish The Earth Could Pause For A While.

Not that there's a special someone or special occasion that's going on now that I need to savour every moment.

But, I still think that the earth is spinning too fast. The so-called 24 hours a day, 7 days a week seem to pass so fast as if there's mega sales in timing as well. Up to 70% that is.

Is it just me (and my time management but I supposed this applies for all Monash students) but my work seem to pile up really quick. I know you'd think that I'm procrastinating again but nope! I'm already trying to complete them as efficient as I can but looks like the equilibrium shift is towards the other side -- the adding of work

Something like this:
I actually replied xuewen's text in the loo last night. I know it's gross, but hey! We've only got 4 minutes to save the world!

I'm actually looking forward to this 31st August.

Happy 51st (advanced) Birthday, Malaysia!

Ain't that patriotic like Joy, but I think everyone's looking forward to that day. Long weekend =)

Today, I get to take picture with the mascot!

Photobucket
Daily Fresh's mascot

I'm currently assisting this event (under Monash) as a part-timer, it's some Ice-kimo Eating Challenge in Sunway Pyramid for 3 days. If you want to stand a chance to win RM 10 000, do take part tomorrow in order to qualify yourself to the semi-finals and finals on Sunday. It's relatively easy to get to the semis actually. If only I can join.

I met quite a few people there in Pyramid. Most of them are from Monash. Very randomly, I met Heui Foong also! One of my high school junior, my pingpong club member also. She spotted me first when her bf wanted to join the competition. And heck, I can't recognize her! She looks so different.

She said she can't recognize me too 'cause I lost so much weight and I looked so thin now. I don't know if that's a form of sarcasm or what. 'Cause since I'm fat now, I must be really really fat last time. As in really really really... Oh well..

----

And you know what? Currently, I really want to meet these 3 people (in no particular preference)

1) Elaine Quah (ex-demo from Monash)
2) yk
3) alxt

I feel I haven't met/spoken to them (msn doesn't count) for sooooooooooooooo long!! I've been trying find ways to meet them but too bad, wrong timing (right, alxt?).

=(

Jior, I miss playing with you la.

Photon packets.

Last night Wei Liang, Li-lian and I went and watched this fireworks competition again at Putrajaya. The fireworks displayed were very good and basically its an international competition between several countries. This event is also known as Malaysia International Fireworks Competition 2008.

They are really beautiful! Okay, since I don't know how else I should describe them, I think I'll let the pictures do the talking okay?

These are just a quarter of what I took last night. Beautiful right?

I was so amazed by how they choreographed those different packs of photons and how they're being excited to different levels emitting those different colours!

Beautiful beautiful. Of course my photography isn't good enough la, you should watch it yourself.

These are by the Canada team. You still can catch Spain's on August 24th and the grand finale on the August 29th. For more information, you can check it out here.

Enjoy! =)

Singapore '08

Some of you asked me how was my trip to Singapore.

Photobucket

It was good, I must say. I'm especially thankful for Joy. Thanks dear!!

We walked like the entire of Singapore? Okay, maybe just the southern part but boy, that's alot! We literally walked from 7am till 11pm, that's 16 hours! Maybe you can minus 3 hours for meals + rest + songs of the sea @ sentosa. That's still alot ehh.

And I guess from the way we took pictures, everyone would know that we're not local. I mean, which crazy local would take not-so-fascinating-pictures with weird poses like this photographer?

Photobucket

Somemore during busy busy day time! I think they're kind enough to not give us weird stares.
And did I say we walked alot? Haha I think I did.

(those red lines were our journey, looks quite near from here)

As we journeyed (with pictures taking all), we walked passed a few towns from Chinatown until a MRT station just two stops from Raffles Place. Our walking journey continued in Raffles' Place. From Lau Pa Sat right till the Singapore River until Esplanade in City Hall and all the buildings around. We finally stopped for a drink at Marina Square before we walked on. My legs almost gave up on me, boohoo!

The Singapore River

The sun in Singapore was so fierce and I suspect Singapore has a different sun from Malaysia. It's really hot in Malaysia too but at least I don't sweat the minute I stand outside my house.

@ Marina Square

We then adjourned to visit the Fountain of Wealth in Suntec City and walked around before we met Lingling up at Vivo City. And the walk from Suntec to its nearest MRT (City Hall) was superrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr far away! Ain't kidding!

We spent the night in Sentosa watching the award winning "Songs of the Seas" which was good and then Bugis street (a bigger version of our Petaling street). Now you tell me, wasn't that alot? Haha. Maybe not for a Singaporean's standard la.

To be truthful, I've never walked this much all my life! And Joy wasn't impressed at all when I told her all these. She said those places were very near =(

But at least her aunt, Lingling, Eunice and Liangyi were impressed.

Come, let me convince you: It was really really far!! (For a Malaysian's standard la, don't la go compare with those Singaporeans like Joy who walks so much)

I Fen. MK. Su Ann -- high school good friends

I think its the companionship that makes everything worth while.

P/s: I think we took almost 200 pictures just that day. Will upload them in my facebook once I've done compiling them okay. That will mark my first album in facebook. So sad right? Haha.

No, it's not school holiday yet.

Nevertheless, I'm very excited about this whole backpacking idea now.

Photobucket

Imagine I'm gonna carry these to school and attend two lectures and a tutorial before Joeanne (thanks dear!) drop me off at the nearest LRT station after Immuno lecture.

We haven't gotten our accommodation yet, or the itinerary. We only have bus tickets (thanks, Mei Xian!). Worry? Not abit! I believe You will lead us to the right place, to a safe and clean budgeted backpackers place. I just wanna thank You.

To think about being independent, to think about those places that I'm planning to visit, to think about meeting up some old (and not so old) friends --- I just can't wait!

Just a short getaway, but I get it's gonna be real cool. Leaving in less than 12 hours from now.

Woooott! Oh well, I should be asleep by now.

So guileful!

I was told by this friend and this friend that the psychology paper is not easy. Quite difficult, in fact, by the first friend.

Suddenly, it dawned on me, maybe I can try checking for past year paper in the Monash exam database since its an Australian paper?

"Jeng! Brilliant idea!" I thought.

I got all excited, logging into Monash's website. Into the Library and Learning commons' website and searched for it.

Fuhhh! Really got weyy! Though that paper is old, more than 10 years edi, I don't mind la. Better than being clueless right?

I then happily clicked on that paper and the exam paper (pdf file) loaded.

Cis!

Thanks, Monash for all the suspenses and excitements.

08.08.08

I have nothing to journal on actually, but since its 08.08.08, I insist in writing something =)

So, let's go random okay!

***

Today, 08.08.08, other than marking the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic game (big day for them), its also our dear Iri's first time to Taman Rakyat too.

She walked/jogged a little there. Not bad for a start, 3 km of walk and panting her way after 100 meters of jog. But its still not bad, seriously. I could be worse for my first time! Babe, maybe you should come with us?

And Iri's a funny girl. She actually asked me what to wear to jog. Initially, she insisted on slippers! And then, she thinks everyone jogs with jeans!

That's the funniest statement la. Slippers and jeans, I still can't believe it. Joker with flair? LOL.

***

Went for badminton with xuewen today again. Damn potong when the court that we usually play in has function and another court didn't allow us to play. But thank God for another place. Met a veteran badminton player there. We actually played double with them! It was my first time for double and of course I'm bad at it, I bet you can tell!

Nevertheless, it was a good time playing and its actually quite fun to play doubles la. And I love that place now. I'll be going there from now on. No more the old place, with the "old pervert" (Lee, 2008)!

***

I have been trying to complete all my lab reports earlier but they seem endless!! *Roarrr*

***

My deferred exam for Psychology will be on, this coming Monday. I can't remember a thing, and I just can't find enough time to revise it. I've only completed one chapter so far. Five more to go, how??

***

Next week's spontaneous plan to Singapore is still on. But no accommodation yet. Problems came up with some of my friends and the 'supposingly can stay in' plan got turned down. Talking about disappointments but yeap, I totally understand la. So, it's okay! =)

Hostel there doesn't seem safe and hotel would be too expensive for us. I've calculated, with the amount of money I have now (I don't want to ask from dad or mom), I'll have less than SGD 50 left for all my food and moving around Singapore (mrt/buses).

We haven't booked any accommodation yet. We've discussed and we'll just go check out upon arrival only. Hopefully those places are not packed and left us with no choice but to bunk in Changi Airport for the night? I hope not. So yeap, I believe You will provide.

P/s: Anyone knows anyone in Singapore that has an extra room for rent? I'm sure they're way safer than backpackers hostel.

***

I haven't prepare my message for tomorrow yet, but I already have the rough idea la.

Dear Lord Jesus, I humble myself before you. Use me as You will, and speak through me. We yearn to hear from You again. Fill us anew, we pray and I thank You for Your complete work on the cross. I thank You, and I love You. In Jesus' name, amen.

What's New?

Today, Dr Siow shot a question during Food Science lecture. I answered her. She then asked me to repeat my last sentence (guess the keyword that she wanted was there).

Whole class kept quiet, waiting for my answer in anticipation. I looked at Dr Siow and said, "I forgot what I've just said"

Whole class laughed out loud.

Clown of the day, again. Looks like this happens only in her lecture and this isn't the first time =/

----

Here comes the second part of my silliness for the day.

I misplaced my car key (+ house key). Or rather, I left it in the library when I saved stuffs from the student drive this morning (my thumbdrive is connected to my car key) and I forgot to unplug the thumbdrive from the USB port.

I went to the library's lost and found area but it wasn't there. I went to check on my car -- phew, it's safe. Told the security guard to keep an eye on my car while I went to lodge a report. I prayed as I went around. The funny part is that, I wasn't panic! You can ask Joeanne. She met me on the way and I told her I lost my keys with smiles on my face. I believe no one will take it because those keys were also covered with the blood of Jesus (not literally). I kept thanking Him as I made my way around and guess what, I found it! =)

All glory to Him! =)

FROG.

Attended a briefing in PWTC yesterday afternoon.

Photobucket

I took LRT up and I must say this, I'm rather impressed by the LRT system here (Joy, I take back my words for disliking the public transport here. At least LRT is still bearable. NOT KTM for sure!). I passed 14 stations and changed train twice but the entire journey only took me 45 minutes (inclusive of waiting time). This is really cool.

Jesus again never failed to amaze me. His favour was very obvious upon my life.

There was no parking spaces at the Kelana Jaya LRT station and I can see so many cars went rounding so many times for a carpark. I don't mind parking really far away and I even contemplated in parking at illegal parkings (outside houses without those proper parking box lines) but something prompted me strongly not to. After two rounds of rounding with the rest of the cars (one way street), I finally gave up doing it with my own strength.

I prayed, "Jesus, I know there's nothing too small for you. I need a parking space right now and I know You'll provide me one. Thank You in advance! Amen"

That time I told myself to chill and just believe that He'll provide. So, I took another round and just DIRECTLY IN FRONT of the train station (the spot nearest to the station) BOTH cars on my left and right came out just before me. He doesn't only provide, He always give me more than enough you see! I can even choose to park at the left side or the right side of that one way street just right in front of the station. How cool right? Shaded parking somemore! He's sooo awesome!

Basically now, I'm taking up this part time job offered for Monash student just for a weekend. The wages agreed was RM 150 for 3 days. That day, I was to go and meet the manager of the company. He explained abit bout the programme and asked me if I have any questions. With some courage (and hope), I double verify if the pay will only be RM 150 (RM 50 per day) and does it include meals or not. I told him that RM 50 is rather low. The manager said he was not the one dealing with salary thingy and he has no idea. His favour was really upon us when we spoke nicely to the manager and our pay was raised from RM 150 to RM 350. That's like, slightly more than double? Awesome right?!

Next, I got lost on the way back because of that one way street. I have no idea where I was, there was no signboards to any highways, only housing area names. Again, I prayed. I told Him that I believe in Him and that He'll guide me back to Klang to attend the youth service. His Holy Spirit will just prompt me on where I should turn -- left, right or just go straight. I wasn't panic at all and actually felt the peace in me. I just follow as He prompts. I drove by faith and towards the end of the road, its a one way street and the only turning was to the toll. What if that highway after the toll leads me to JB or something? I have no choice but to drive on (only one way). I obeyed, and I saw Klang's signboard right after that.

It's basically telling us that when we say we want to rely on God, we must FULLY rely on Him and not only when we feel like it. We cant rely on the Spirit and the flesh (our own intuition) at the same time. We can only choose one, and am glad that I chose the right path for that day. I reached church in 15 mins (using NKVE).

FROG = Fully Rely On God

1 Peter 5:7 "Throw all your worry on him, because He cares for you." Amen?
