Four Months.

Thanks to Minghui, I decided to pull out my driving license from my wallet and check when's the next time should I go and renew my driving license. And to my horror, I'm late by 4 months!

yes, 4 months.

This also means that I've been driving illegally for 4 months now and I really thank God that no police had stopped me so far to ask for my license. And I've been driving to and from uni, church practices and meetings and all and not forgetting, cny visitings!

Look, I drove the car perfectly fine without any fear of license being checked for the past 4 months until I know that my license has expired. And the fear of driving without license is there.

Thats what you call the consciousness.

The same goes for The Law and The Grace. Its up to our mind to set its focus on. Its either we're self-conscious or Christ-conscious.

The former will lead to fear of being penalised and hence fear of God but the latter will lead to unending love and cause you to fall more in love with Him. The former will draw you away from God but the latter will draw you closer to God.

SO yeah, maybe its a worth-thinking question? How have we been? :)

How Ironic!

I'm a Christian but I'm still a Chinese.

So people, I still do celebrate Chinese New Year. I realise that alot of people tend to think that once you become a Christian, you no longer celebrate festivals that has got to do with Chinese. Aiyo, being a Christian doesnt make myself a westerner la. So, I'm still a Chinese, a 100% Chinese! Chinese is my race, and Christianity is my religion (not exactly a religion but I don't want to confuse you further in this now). Yeah, so celebrating Chinese New Year has got nothing to do with being a Christian (or the religion as a whole). It's a cultural thingy. Chinese New Year has got nothing to do with Buddhism as well, its just a Chinese thing you know. Its the race, the culture. We don't celebrate Wesak Day or All Souls Day etc because these beliefs embraces the Buddhism (like Wesak Day is Buddha's birthday?) so yeah. So basically a Chinese Christian like myself (and many other people) celebrate Chinese New Year, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Christmas.

I just came out from the shower with my hair washed, oh yes today's the first day of cny.

According to the olden Chinese beliefs, all my good luck should have been washed off and nothing left for the remaining of this year. Ahh really? I must be really unlucky for years already since I wash my hair everyday! Looking back, I don't think so! That's because my life is not an accident, and things don't come by luck. I don't believe in luck. I believe Jesus' grace is always sufficient for me and He's my provider in everything. He watches my steps everyday, and guide me as I surrender my life to Him. I know everything will be good because He only knows how to give good things to us. So yeah, just in case you ter-wash your hair today, fret not! Your so-called 'luck' this year should not be deterned by that accidental act of washing your hair but believe that Jesus is a God of abundance who will never shortchange you :)

Happy Chinese New Year people!

Something Bout Jogs.

Today, I met my senior, Suet Leng during our usual jog sessions. Man, I haven't met her since she left secondary school and she's still so much taller than me! More than one head! I bet she's a six-footer now! And when I had to look up so high just to talk to her, and guess what she said?

"Don't worry, you can still grow. Take me as your benchmark"

Grow horizontally it is! No more verticals for me edi la, so sad!

If you've read this post of mine before, I mentioned that its an official thing that I cannot grow anymore. So yeah, I've to face the reality boohoo!

I bet she isn't aware of my age. You know, one thing about seniors are that their impression of you stays put with the year they last meet you. Unless you're still in touch with them. For example, Yee Pam still thinks that I'm form 3 now and she insisted that I'm still underage for 18pl movies or to go clubbing. I've grown and I'm no longer the small kid that you all though that oI am.

Talking bout jogs, have you wondered why one feels a sharp pain on the muscle just right below the ribs when you haven't jogged for a while? That's definitely not an appendicitis I assure you! That's just to show that you're not fit. Its basically spasms of your muscles because of the lack of oxygen. If you suffer from this, you may want to adjust your breathing mechanism a little? It's also known as stitch, so yeah you can google bout it if you want to know more.

And another common jog annoyance is the itch on your thigh up to your gluteus maximus (yes, whayying, the butt muscle). This 'itch' is caused by the blood circulation. As you all know, all these endurance exercises require a lot of energy, and all these energy can be harvested by the respiration (C6H12O6 + 6O2 --> 6CO2 + 6H2O + energy).

That also means we need alot of oxygen as well to get more energy. Because of this, our arteries and blood capillaries kept expanding and contracting in repeated mode to allow more blood flow. And yes, this repeated expansion and contraction actually delivers signal to our brain and somehow our brain interprets it as itch.

Keep your jogging sessions more regular will do the trick, and not by scratching yourself uh :)

A Brand New Direction.

If you've been following my blog entries like this one, I've mentioned before that we as Christ's ambassadors are all recession-proof!

By God's grace and favour, I've gotten a job offer in one of the MNCs this morning, a foreign-based pharmaceutical company.

---

That time, I was so unprepared for the interview since I thought it was just another just-for-experience interview but nope. God actually said "this is the company" very clearly right after the interview. He spoke!

I also remember very vividly my aimlessness after SPM and after SAM on what course should I pursue next. And I heard Him speaking to me very clearly as well on what should I do next (like what course and where). Its as if the burden in my heart was lifted while peace and joy would fill it once He speaks. Because I know that His hands will be on it and His plans are to prosper us always.

I really don't know what else to say when God prepared everything ahead. I can only stand in awe. He's like so awesome, all I need to do is to trust and obey; believe and receive.

My final exam will be on Feb 10th and I'll be starting work on Feb 16th. How soon eh? But I really wanna thank God for His provision and to testify His goodness and faithfulness in my life.

Ain't writing all these to brag here but I secretly hope that you'll grasp this same faith and know that if Jesus can bless Mun Khea like this, He can too do the same to you when you allow Him to :)
