Sun

Today MGS Klang finally had their Canteen Day after 7 years of fasting-and-think-over should or should not have another Canteen Day after those fights. MGS had their last Canteen Day when I was in form 2.

As a(n) faithful *cough* ex-student, I went. Around 11am. And..

I had sunburnt!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Maybe it's not so noticable in this picture. It's around my forehead, my nose and both cheeks. And they're red. Went for youth after that and people noticed them too.

Edit: Not face only. Both arms and feet also (wore tee and short pants, smart laa)

Didn't know that it was that bad till Mun Sheung noticed an "invisible" slippar on my foot. Right, the two-tones shades on both my feet. I just felt in burning and hot, didn't know I was baked.

Well, at least it wasn't as bad as the "baked" condition I had 3 years ago in National Service.

Sher Ri and I. My family, Sher Ri's family, Ekjing's family, Sharon and Jolene Teoh's family; all came to visit me and witnessed my commanding during the launching of NS. Whoa, am so famous! Just kidding. Special thanks to you all who came

It was my first weekend there where the Prime Minister, Dato' Seri Abdullah Badawi launched the National Service in my campsite. It was in Malaysia's history. I am proud to be there!

I was badly burnt, I know. According to sis, I looked as though I just came out from rescuing the fire as a fire fighter. Even the uniform is similar, except for the colour.

Despite all these, I still love the sun. Don't get me wrong. This doesn't mean I'll sit on the field sunbathing in the middle of the hot afternoon. Unlike someone.. (I wonder who).

Anyway, sun is here to keep us warm. Good to have them and I feel blessed and appreciate the sun even more especially when am stucked in the freezing-cold-Monash Library or when am sick. All thanks to God's wonderful creation. I really admire Him.

Good day to you all! =) God bless.

McD

I was on MSN with Benjamin last nite, as usual. Suddenly he asked me to go McD with him. I said okay since I kinda miss the fries there. Used to have them when I studied last time. He picked me up and we went to the one behind my house, the
Andalas branch.

Guess what?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Even this branch has changed to 24 hours starting TODAY. Whoa. Unexpected but yeah. Used to be those in KL, then Subang and Sunway.. and now, Klang!

So, if you're tired of mamak food and you're hungry in the middle of the night, and IF you can go out.. can count on McD!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
My habit in McD. I always do this when am there and I don't take sauces

I don't know why I'm always happy in McD. Even without the happy meals. I'm loving it'. Enjoy.

Phua Chu Kang's Mother Is Healed of Cancer

I came across this article in the star when dad cropped it out. The article was dated 12 October 2006 when Gurmit (known as Phua Chu Kang) testified bout how God miraculously healed his mom from the 4th stage cancer. All the specialists said that there is nothing they can do about it since it's already so serious but God heard Gurmit's prayers. He wasn't a believer back then. God extended his mother's life for 16 years and there was no trace of cancer cells spread. They are completely gone.
Read the following article testified by Gurmit himself. Now he's a faithful and humble worshipper in one of the churches in Singapore every Sunday. Despite his popularity etc, his heart is humble before God. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keeping his faith
By DAVID NG

HE arrived quietly at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport last Wednesday afternoon, and checked into the hotel at Berjaya Times Square.

The organisers of The Star Christian Fellowship Fourth Thanksgiving Dinner took him to The Eastin in Petaling Jaya for a quick check of the venue and to test out the sound system. He patiently worked with the technicians and rehearsed a few numbers before dashing back to his hotel to get ready for the dinner.

Gurmit Singh: ‘I heard that little voice, just calling out to me ... I knelt down, prayed and surrendered my life to God.’

The real Gurmit Singh is an unusually quiet person, according to a staff member at his church on Tanglin Road in Singapore.

“But apart from his smiles, he hardly stands out as the Phua Chu Kang that he is on TV whenever he worships at church on Sundays,” she said. “He and his family are like other families. They are ordinary people.”

Among those who attended the dinner, few knew that he could mesmerise an audience of professionals and journalists with songs.

“I never knew that he could sing,” said Belinda Kiew of Cheras. “But he sang so well. And in real person, he is so handsome.”

In between belting out several popular songs, including Eric Clapton’s Wonderful Tonight and Desperado by the Eagles, Gurmit had his audience in stitches as he punched his one-liners.

Occasionally, he stuck out his tongue for the camera, and caused roaring laughter from the floor.

“He is really funny. He brings out the comedy in real-life situations,” said Arnold Okello Agina, a 26-year-old Business Information Systems student from Nairobi, Kenya.

Arnold, who was at the dinner, has been following the Phua Chu Kang series on TV3 since 2004. He added: “At first, I thought the jokes were more local or Singaporean, but after a while, I think his sense of humour is universal.”

On TV, Phua Chu Kang spots a prominent mole, but in real life Gurmit cuts a dashing figure. His good looks can perhaps be attributed to his mixed parentage – his father is Punjabi while his mother is Chinese-Japanese.

Gurmit regards his mother as his mentor. “I always thought she was a super-mother. She was the strongest woman in the world, who could work 24 hours a day without feeling tired,” he said. “Therefore, when the specialist told us that Mother had cancer and that it was already very advanced (Stage Four), I was devastated.

“Mother had only six months to live, according to the specialist. Her health was deteriorating fast. It was obvious that we were going to lose her.” That was back in 1984, when Gurmit was only 19.

“My parents loved children. I wanted my mother to live long enough to see her grandchildren, hold them and play with them. I prayed for a girlfriend and, before long God found me a girlfriend, who later became my wife,” said Gurmit, referring to his Chinese wife, Melissa. “We have two lovely children, Gabrielle and Elliot.”

Gurmit’s mother lived for another 16 years, and Gurmit was quick to attribute the miracle of his mother’s healing to God’s answer to his simple prayer.

“Even the doctor was surprised when he carried out another test on my mother. I remember his face when he told us, ‘Gurmit, whatever you are doing outside of this hospital, please continue. We have checked for the spread of her cancer cells, and they are totally gone!’

“In 2000, when mother had a relapse, initially I was angry with God until I heard a still, small voice saying: ‘Gurmit, remember that prayer of yours 16 years ago? I have kept her all this while so that she could enjoy her grandchildren.’ ’’

He traces his faith in God to a healing rally in Singapore by renowned evangelist Reinhard Bonke. “Before this, I used to be a brother who slapped his sisters. When they claimed that they had become born-again Christians, I used to persecute them,” he said.

“But that evening on Nov 13, 1985, at the stadium, with 60,000 people around me, I felt like I was alone, and I heard that little voice, just calling out to me, ‘Hi!’ I knelt down, prayed and surrendered my life to God,” he said. And Gurmit’s life has never been the same since.

Despite his fame, Gurmit remains humble and down-to-earth, charming and candid, endearing himself to his legions of fans in Malaysia and across the Causeway.

(adapted from The Star)

Whatever seems impossible to the world (eg. surgeons, specialist, or anyone on this earth) is possible with God. He is there through it all. By faith, believe for the impossible and they will be possible. Be blessed.

Mun Sheung In Bloggers

What in the world that even Mun Sheung starts blogging? I remember having this as my personal message once and everyone started asking for her blog's URL from me. Famous gilerr..

She added me in MSN several months ago but of course, I blocked her laa.. As you should have expected.

It was once when I was online and I ter-saw her personal message stating, "Have anyone of you read my blog?" and i went,
"omg! she really started blogging" and so I unblocked her FOR THAT MOMENT and asked for her blog's URL. She gave me.. and when I read, I laughed my lungs out. FYI, I was in the library at that time. I just couldn't help it.

So, to those who is bored now and wanting something to laugh and to cheer you, you can click here. By the way, there is only one entry in it and please bear with her innocence and her au-ta (lousy) english okay. Don't say I didn't warn you. She's just frank.

Oh btw, she claimed that msn space is lousy, so she has upgraded her blog to blogspot.com. Gosh, what in the world right?

Have a good laugh, enjoy and be blessed.

A trip to the Islam State

I'm back! Saturday evening actually.. It was indeed a great a trip. We were purposed to bless the Kota Bahru folks there, end up, we were the one being blessed. Very blessed.

There are two alternatives to Kota Bahru. Either by boarding the bumpy train (takes around 10 hours) or by plane (45 minutes). Managed to book the cheap flights by Air Asia and the tickets are actually cheaper than boarding the train.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Oh what do you expect with a RM 1.99 ticket rite? Of course you have do some walking.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

SELAMAT DATANG KE KELANTAN DARUL NAIM

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Mun Wah and Emeri at the foreground. Take note of the background art. So Islamic!

We were greeted by this Islamic-art airport. This airport is something like our old Subang airport; in terms of size and services.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
The girls that went were Emeri, Mayvern, Shee Wuen, Madeline, Mun Wah and myself. You can tell which foot belong to who. Cough.

Oh by the way, before I go on.. take note at our footwear. We're on a TRIP with a youth group and we should expect lotsa walkings and what not. You should be expecting more comfy footwears such as walking shoes or sport shoes but no, someone brilliant actually wore high heels to the airport and brought along 2 flip flops for this journey. Cough. You know who laa..

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This is the church that we visited. And it's located at the center of the city. It's just opposite the KB mall; the LARGEST, one and only mall in the entire of Kota Bahru.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
KB mall

It's like our Jusco back in Klang where you will meet at least someone you know when you go to the mall. Quoting from Andrew, "Everyone will meet everyone in this mall, as its the only place in town where we can walk or buy stuffs"

This mall seems so huge but to my finding, they have NO cinema in the entire of Kelantan. They have lotsa supplies of pirated VCDs and DVDs for sure, but no surround sounds and atmosphere? That's a pity. I was told that there are crazy people (Florence's friends) where they would board the bus at night, travel all the way to KL (they'll reach in the morning) to watch Spiderman 3 and then travel back to KB by bus, reaching KB at night. It's like travelling for almost 20 hours to watch the 2 hours movie and then return home. Watching good movies in the cinema just have the power of attractions eh? This taught me to appreaciate the many facilities and entertainments back here.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Found this notice at the entrance to a snooker place in the mall

Oh, did I mentioned that we're in an Islam place where short pants are prohibited? Err.. not really prohibited for a non-muslim like us if we wear knee-length-shorts
but not anything shorter than this..

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

We will NOT be fined but everyone will give us a weird stare. NO short pants for public areas like shopping malls etc. And yea, if any Muslims are caught wearing shorts or anything, they WILL BE FINED RM 300. Thank God am not a muslim there.

Moving on, we put down our luggages in the church when we reached, started doing soundchecking and fixed our instruments. After that, we went downstairs to the shop lots to have some food. Boy, the food here are so cheap!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Oh that's my tomyam by the way. According to Pei Fong (my KB friend), the tomyam in this shop is good. And I agreed. And the tomyam only costs RM 3?? You know those rice with a dish (eg. Blackpepper chicken rice) would cost at least
RM 5 per plate back here, over there in KB each of these only costs RM 2.80. My oh my~ The huge glass of fresh fruit juices only costs RM 1.60 each where here will at least cost you RM 2.50 per glass.

We took over the worship for the bible study on Thursday nite. It's supposed to start at 8pm but people there are really punctual, they all come at 7.30pm. Unlike those back here.. cough. Vee Lun (my monash friend from KB) called and said he wants to take us out for supper. Pei Fong texted me telling me that he's in KB mall, asked if I can go and meet him there. But Andrew took us out for supper, so had to decline this two friends. So sweet of them right? Thanks friends!

Told Pei Fong that Andrew's taking us out for supper and I asked if he wants to join us. He wanted to, but it was too late to go out already. It was just 10 pm at that time! Did I mentioned that most of their bedtime is between 10-11 pm? Nobody goes out after 10 pm in KB. It's a little too late as if it's already 1 am in KL. So, there isn't much of a nightlife there. Hardly you can find mamak stalls. We had our supper at Oriental Kopitiam and Andrew treated us all. Thanks, Andrew!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The following morning (Friday), we had our breakfast at this famous beef noodle restaurant downstairs. And it operates only in the morning.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

For beef noodle lovers out there, you should try! People commented that this is the best beef noodle shop in the entire of Malaysia. I had my first beef noodle here and I liked it well. The beef is tender and the soup is just.. tasty! It's just the row of shops below the church and you guys should try it when you're there! Oh, Uncle Raymond loves it heaps and he paid our bill. Gosh. All paid for.. really paiseh. Thanks Unc Ray!

I don't usually take breakfast, what more such heavy breakfast as this BEFORE church service. After service, Andrew's parents brought us out for Khaojam (its pronounced as cow-jump). Pastor Alan loves this.. Uncle Raymond can have 3 plates of these though the serving for each plate is quite a big portion.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

It's actually some green-herb rice mixed with raw vegetables like cucumber, onion, taugeh, finely-chopped fried fish. It may sound yucky when I tell you this but.. its yummy! Seriously!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This is Khaojam. Emeri, Mun Wah and I shared one plate

We went to KB mall after lunch for ice-creams. These HUGE scoops of ice-cream with topping only costs RM 2.80 each. All time favourites! =)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

It's delicious!
The guys bought so much. It's cheap and they called KB the ice-cream heaven. LOL.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
This is (the handsome) Ronnie with his ice-cream

The girls shared a bowl of thai tomyam in the mall. Six of us were full but we wanted to try. So, we all shared.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

We were at the mall for an hour plus only and then back to church to pack before we adjourned to the beach.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

On our way there, there are many stalls by the roadside selling same things just like those lemang stalls on the way to Genting Highlands. Steamed sweet corns and steamed ground nuts. At least 9 stalls by the same road. Uncle Raymond stopped by and bought some. 8 corns for RM 5. That's a deal weyy! Those sold in our pasar malam costs at least RM 1.30 each. Well, according to our KB friends we were cheated. Too expensive. Oh yea, did I mentioned that a huge plastic bag filled with pisang goreng only costs RM 1 in Kota Bahru? Crazy! All these deals amazed big city kids like us.

The amazing views of Pantai Cahaya Bulan (formerly known as Pantai Cinta Berahi but after PAS took over, it sounded "obscene".. must choose a more decent name and there it goes..)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This is our chalet

The church booked 2 chalets for us for the night. And they purposely had their youth meeting there with us. The youth invited a lot of other their friends just because the HCA team is here. Whoa! Felt so honoured weyy! Lotsa non-believers. About 40 young people from there turned up. We had campfire!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
City brats like us (or like me) have never experienced all these campfires before. Where can we do this? Klang river? LOL. So cannot blame rite?

We had praise and worship around the fire. A few couples of adults came along to join the fun. They are young at heart man! We all sung and danced and everyone enjoyed. Oh, how can i leave out the ever-loving-cute chicken dance! So chunted when everyone does it!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

We had potbless for dinner. The food were awesome man! Thai tomyam was one of it! Whoosh~ True blessings from heaven!

After that we were divided into 5 groups of mixed KB and KL young people. We played games and I believe everyone had a great time. They laughed their lungs out and everyone was exhausted. At least my sister was (sweat so much running around during games). She doesn't usually sweat like this.

The entire thing ended around 11 pm. It was superbly late for them!! Remember? Anyway, we bathed and rested for the night.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
The Muslims wore long TRACKSUITS into the pool! What do you think?

There's a huge swimming pool there too. As the chalet's guest, we're allowed to use this swimming pool and we're supposed to wear shorts and tee into the pool (not swimsuit). LOL. Well, as you all know we're in a Muslim state. cough. None of us went into the pool because we didn't bring extra sets of clothes.

Posers (learnt and still learning from Amelia. cough)

We checked-out about 12 something. Florence and her mom brought us out for lunch. The place seems dirty. Not really dirty, but lotsa house flies all around.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The food is called Nasi Lauk. It's yummy! Basically, its rice with curry chicken (their style) and kunyit fried chicken.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

It's seriously delicious! And it's only RM 2 per packet. Great deal!

Went back to church, packed our luggages. Florence brought us to the market to buy some famous local delicacies such as dodol and keropok ikan home. They are cheap. Good bargain.
And.. I saw this in the market

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This somewhat looks like my dented pingpong balls are telur penyu (turtle's eggs). They are sold in the market; 3 for RM 5. Not cheap eh!

Rushed to the airport after that and we were almost late. The check-in counter was about to close in 10 seconds. Managed to check-in but of course the clerk bebel-ed (nagged) because we were late.

We were back safe and sound. Overall, it was a great trip I must say. As said, we were supposed to bless the people there but we ended up being blessed. What more can I ask for? Thank You, Jesus!

Finally.

Exam has ended. Finally. Yes, finally my agony has ended.

Rivers of milk and honey shall follow.

Haven't been sleeping properly every nite. 2-3 hours? Some nights only 1/2 hour or none.

Hox. Ubx. Dpp. Hh. En. Bic. Dal. Dll. Lin-4. Lin-14. Bmp-2. Bmp-4.

Gosh, scratch those. They are some examples of gene's name that I've to memorise along with their functions and mechanisms. I had all these genes and mechanisms moving about in my cerebrum throughout the 30 mins "nap" and I could say, my mind did not stop moving. It was horrid!

As you may anticipate, I screwed the last paper. I had a nervous breakdown. First time after so many times of exam. I practically forgotten EVERYTHING I read for the past 2 weeks and I almost cried. Was dissapointed with myself. Very dissapointed.

Anyway, what is done, is done. Couldn't do anything now. Moving on..

======================================================================================

My uni friends and I went to P.Ketam for a "gateaway" after our exam that morning. We boarded the ferry at Port Klang. It's nothing worth going there except for the companion of my friends and a little lesson I learnt there.

The simplicity of life.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Life isn't about everything you own.

Money couldn't buy you happiness, genuine friendship, love.
You may live in the biggest house of the city, driving the best and most expensive car, owning alot of estates and properties but deep down, you're lonely and prolly never felt an inch of love before.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Take a look at the background of this picture. The narrow road that connects everything. This is their main road! They only cycle around. And half of the time we were honked for blocking the road.

Talking bout genuine friendship, there is one that I appreciate and really thankful of. This friendship birthed on Dec 2002 and she's still one great friend that God has sent. No doubt I have many close friends year in and year out but she differs from them all. She's Angela. She's God-gifted and she's a great blessing to every friend of hers. Those who knows her will agree with what I've said.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

"It is not easy to find a true friend in one's life. I could admit that I haven't really found one true friend that I could turn to and will be there for me all the time throughout my ups and downs and I'm already in my 50s now. True friends are God-gifted and I'm glad that you both have found one. Keep it, appreciate it" (Dr Goon, 2003)

I remembered these were what Dr Goon told us, very randomly during a farewell dinner for the Bethany folks on Dec 2003. He doesn't even really know us but yet, he was led to tell us that.

Angel, despite the long-distance friendship I appreciate your companion, all you've done and your genuine friendship. Seriously. Thanks. Love you, Darling!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

People, appreciate people around you. They might not show it but they are truly for you, protecting and loving you as a friend.

Be blessed, be encouraged and feel loved. Till then, signing OFF.

Worth more

Take a look at this picture:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
ala carte drinks
(RM 1.50) on the left and drinks come in a set (RM 1) on the right

My uni friends and I had our dinner in one of the western food restaurants outside our campus. The food, for example Nasi Lemak costs RM 4.90 (ala carte) or the set, RM 5.90 (comes with a cup of softdrink for just another ringgit extra).

I didn't take the set, I ordered the drinks separately and each cup costs RM 1.50.

Take a look at the size differences for the 50-cent-worth.

However, people just jump in to the "attraction" when it offers in a set, only for another ringgit extra.

That's the consumer's behaviour. That's a marketing skill. That's the world today. That's us.

Nothing comes for free..

How many of you are familiar with this saying? I totally agree with this saying. But this only limits to the world.

It's all together a d i f f e r e n t thing when you come to the ever loving FATHER in heaven. You could ask for anything and everything (provided that it's according to His will) and its all FREE. Why? Because Jesus has paid for everything on the cross for us.

So, start believing it and ask for it.
By faith, thank Him that you have already received it.

Thank Him for the healing because you know you're healed just by confessing and believing..

Thank Him for the breakthrough that you know you'll receive it when you believe..

Thank Him for the good results that you're going to receive..

Just thank Him..

Well, my exam hasn't over yet but I thank Him for the wisdom, the understanding and the peace that He has given me as I study.

Oh, did I mention before I like the way Amelia reply my texts? It's always encouraging.

She reminded me this,

"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer" Matthew 21:22

I believe and therefore, I conquered the exams. Grins.

So folks, take home this message and start believing whatever you asked in prayer. Because when you believe, you will receive it no matter how big or small the prayer could be. As long as you believe, it will be granted for you. Amen.

Be blessed, be encouraged and feel loved.

Hail Dr Jesus!

Mom has undergone the biopsy operation yesterday morning.

We prayed. Many prayed.

Doctor was supposed to remove a small portion of the growth to send for histology examination (to check if cancerous or not) as said.

Somehow, The Healer guided the doctor and EVERYTHING was removed by the doctor yesterday itself.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
The entire growth specimen before it was sent for histology examination

Hail The Healer!

Mom do not need to undergo anymore operation, not even the following major one. And the best thing is, NO SCAR was left on her face at all. She's going to be discharged tomorrow morning.

The hospital admission and surgery fee is gonna exceed RM10k. Maybank's gonna pay at least 90% of it, I heard.. since dad's the bank manager.

Praise God for everything! All glory to Him forever and ever.

Thanks, for all your prayers and supports. You guys are magnificent.

Exam's tomorrow onwards. Continue to keep me in prayer.
Gotta continue my studies. More to go.
