Happy Chinese New Year!

Quite a few asked me last night over MSN, "How do you spend your CNY? What do you do?"

Err.. I don't know? The normal way of way of celebrating? How do we differ? I don't know. The visitings? Family get-togethers? House hoppings with friends? The hehe(s) and haha(s) and updates bout their life?

And oh, I bet this one thing/tradition that we observe doesn't happen to you all. Tea serving. Anyone?

Since young, Mun Wah and I were taught to honour our parents by this tea serving ceremony. Basically, we have to get down on our knees, serve a cup of Chinese tea to our parents one by one and greet them "Gong Hei Fatt Choi" or whatever Cantonese CNY idioms you know. And they will take a sip and then give us our angpaos as a token of blessing. This happens in the morning of the first day of CNY.

The not-very-Chinese Mun Sheung would westernise us. Now, we don't even need to serve tea and yet, we'd still get our red packets. Uh huh.

Then mom would cook vegetarian food (basically mixed of all the mushrooms' family -- it's like the mushroom's annual gathering as well before they end up in our digestive tract?) for us all in the morning. Oh well. It's just a tradition la. And as time progresses and when we knew Jesus about 5 years back, we still observe this tradition (because we're still Chinese!) but mom doesn't offer food to the idols anymore. Now, besides that annual-mixed-mushrooms dish, we have side dishes like steamed chicken or bbq chicken wings and whatnot. No more full vegetarian meal you see.

My dad is the youngest son in his family. Somehow when it comes to food (my mom is a good cook!), dad's siblings would come and visit us on the first day of CNY and help themselves with this scrumptious meal. Mom's siblings would come too. So, as year passes, mom would have to cook even more. You know la, these uncles and aunties would come along with their children and all. It's so exciting just to host them again.

Today, I woke up around 12pm only. And while washing up, I can hear doorbells and everyone is here already! OMG. Mom hasn't even cooked yet. So, I've to be a good host and entertain them first la.

Okay, maybe I SHOULD be a good host now.

Happy CNY everyone, have a great time ahead and plenty of H2O please!

Pain!

Something has gone wrong with my abdomen these few days.

Had a terrible pain on the epigastric (E) region of my abdomen on Sunday morning till I couldn't get up from bed. I didn't know it was gastric! In fact, it was a horrible one!

It was so bad till I couldn't turn up for church. And Sue May happily thought that I intended to skip church. Hurr.

That pain crept in during my sleep and lasted until night? You can ask Amelia bout it and yet, I still insisted to pick her up for gathering at Gideon's place. That's because I want to go out! Haha!

---

Then on the following day, had terrible pain on my umbilical (U) region.

Okay, just in case if you don't know what I'm talking about. Basically, this is how our abdomen look like, from the anterior view.

And to describe it more accurately, we'd divide this abdomen into 9 regions and name them accordingly..

like this...

And because of pain in these two regions namely the epigastric (E) and umblical (U), I only lie restlessly on my bed like a snail (with my poppee and another pillow under my belly) while whining my way.

Went to my GP. He said I have complications with my food intake and then wind colic came about. I deferred my psychology exam with an MC from him. I was not fit enough for this exam. Hhmm..

Yeap, that's all.

So much of anatomy uh. I promise there will be lesser of these in the future.

Joy, I'll be more discipline. You too please!

And now Mun Sheung was given this task, to do an experiment at home.

Photobucket

The same ol' experiment la.

And she said she'll put her beans in MY room.

"Why??"

"Because they need light to grow."

"So? Why my room??!"

"'Cause your room lights will be on till 5am? At least got more light exposures when compared to MY room."

Quite true uh. Didn't know she brought her brains out thought this far.

Not bad not bad.

OMG!

I told Jiawen before that Malaysia is not safe (at night) place sometimes and I'm saying it again! Okay, not the entire of Malaysia. My KL or Klang Valley to be precise? Other places like Kuching is fine, its peaceful.

So just now, I was walking with Yan Rui (he was on my right and Sophia was somewhere behind us) when a guy on a motorbike came by. That guy tried snatching Yan Rui's digital camera from his hand (he was holding it with his right hand along with his food).

Everything happened in a split second.

We were too shocked and we can only hear Yan Rui's "Ehhhhhh" repeatedly because that guy was grabbing it. Thank God Yan Rui was smart enough to hold it tightly. The digicam then fell on the ground.

The guy on the motorbike left when his failed attempt. Honestly, my heart skipped a beat! Hearing from other people is different from experiencing it yourself. S-c-a-r-y.

Thank God everything was alright. No one was injured, nothing loss. Except for Sophia, she was traumatized.

So folks, be careful!
