Time rockets!

Just a quick update:

I don't know if you all realize this but time rockets weyy!

Xuewen is like my time keeper and reminder, I mean we both witness the speediness of time together. She just reminded me that we went for lunch together just last Wednesday (along with Sara and another girl) and today's already Wednesday. It felt like as if it was just two days ago!

And on Friday evenings (during badminton), I'll hear xuewen's classic sentence, "Goshhhh so fast another week alreadyy!!" which is so true.

It's quite astounding to even think bout, you know! Like, before you know it, its finals already. And then, graduate? Not quite really but yeah... OMG!

Week come, week go. Assignments and lab reports all piling up (I didn't really procrastinate THAT much, though its sort of my thing now but the truth is that they just keep coming in). It's like I just passed this report up, and the next is already in queue. And the problem is I have THREE practical sessions a week and ugh practical writeups, I bet you can do the maths yourself. And like I've said, time rockets! Before I know it, its already another week

So far it has been somewhat a routine for me, if I must put this way, to attend Emily's Dr Emily's (xuewen thinks its weird to call a lecturer by name, as if he/she's my friend) CHM 1011 lecture and followed with fellowship sessions on Thursday afternoons while waiting for Xuewen or Mun Wah to finish their classes. And the 'meet ups' excites me, like always? And things have been good..

So much of ranting and the one and only point that I want to get to you is that time don't just fly, they rocket!

Upnext:

Mas Selamat.

This is Mas Selamat.

He's a terrorist escaped from the detention centre (in Singapore) near Joy's school. I was so blur when Joy text messaged me that time to tell me bout his escape. She could have met him prolly in her school, since the most dangerous place would be the safest place. Here's Joy's entry bout him. I believe he's still not found.

And just now, Ronnie told us that some joker believes that Selamat managed to escape Singapore and he's now in Malaysia.

How we know?

That's because when he crossed the strait from Singapore to Malaysia, there's a huge banner there written "Selamat Datang ke Malaysia!"

LOL

Humility.

To me, the most important essence to be a good musician is not the talent, but the humility, the teachable spirit and availability.

Talent is a gift --- a gift is something that is given for free and you don't work for it. But this talent will not amount to anything if its used for glorifying one-self like, "Aiya, don't need practise la. I'm already so good with my guitar playing" or "I'm better than him" kinda attitude? I actually beh tahan this kind one lor, but nevertheless..

I like how this article puts it. Its like, so true! It speaks about the danger of pride. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying these to condemn anyone here.

The truth is we were all sinners and we're borned with sinful nature. Hence, pride would come in but thank God for Jesus. God loves sinners (us) but he hates sin. With Jesus' perfect and complete work on the cross, we're all redeemed. We're sinless, so to speak. We're made righteous by His shed blood, not by our own works but by His saving grace.

The major problem is that most of us didn't notice the pride in us. It takes another to see it, and usually people will not tell us right? Like, who will tell? Unless if you're really close to that person la.

Following is an excerpt from the mentioned article.

In fact, the pride itself will cause the person to be brought down. Many times, God does not need to humble a person, because through pride, the person will place themselves in a position where they will fall. When we are full of pride, we think we are better than others are, incapable of being wrong, even incapable of sin. That is the first step in the trap Satan has constructed for the proud.

"A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit"

Prov:29:23

A proud person is like a blind man; although there may be a great hole in the road before him, he can't see it. Too often, it isn't until that person falls into the hole that they realize there is anything wrong.

Pride also brings about contention and causes people to put others down. I don't know how many times I have heard a believer, or even a minister, put down another for doing something they have done themselves.

Sounds familiar? Believe me or not, I've seen alot of them.

One of the great blessings of being truly humble is that a humble heart is one that God can work with. God can not only do things in the life of that person, but through them as well. A truly humble heart is always open to God and to His Word.

Many believers who are living in pride don't realize the blessings that they are losing. They think they are doing fine, serving the Lord, and accomplishing His will. However, they are blind to their own problems and to what God wants to do in their heart.

"And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted"
Matthew 23:12; Luke 14:11; 18:14

"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up"
James 4:10

"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time"
1 Peter 5:6

Excellent way of putting them. Its a good read and you should read it for more examples. It's not like suddenly I realise that I have too much pride in me or whatsoever (I won't know, you see, unless I fall, haha!) but it just dawned on me that I need to pick this vocab up -- humility.

"Lord, now I come before You with a humble heart. I pray that You'll continue to teach and mould me into the person You want me to be. Lord, teach me how to be humble. I pray that not my will but Yours be done and Your Name will be lifted and glorified. Continue to use me as Your humble vessel in this school so that Your amazing love can reach them. In Jesus' mighty name, amen."

Another amazing moment with Dr Emily just now. I'm obsessed, how la? (And Amelia actually finds it gross. Ishh!)

Lards.

Just the other day in Food Science lecture, Dr Siow was asking the class,

"Do you all know what are lards? Where can you normally find them?"

(Guess she expected someone to answer "the frozen goods in the supermarket")

I happily, spontaneously answered, "Hokkien mee!"

Everyone laughed.

Emo?

... I dont think so.

So much of going the extra mile just for you... Always being the one initiating, or else I wouldn't even know what's going on with you or how could I help. Without realising it, I've been doing these for years!

Time, effort, $$$ --- Sometimes I wonder, am I doing all these in vain?

Not that I'm asking for a repay or what. Way no! But, it takes two hands to clap right?

I'm tired, I really am. If only you know, and understand. If only you see the light. I doubt you will, anyway.

Who am I in your life la?

I know! Just another small soldier in the chess, so to speak. Period.

wonder why they don't.

Laminin.

Lord I will burn
Lord I will burn for You
-Burn, by Henry Seeley (Planetshakers)

Just the other day I was singing this song passionately, meaning it with all my heart while worshiping Him..

Now my body temperature is at least 380 Celcius. I'm already with two extra sweaters and rolled myself under a thick comforter -- yet I'm still feeling the chill.

But I believe that Jesus has already bore ALL my sicknesses on the cross 2008 years ago and I'm already healed.

Lord Jesus, now I pronounce my healing in Your Name and I know by Your stripes, I AM HEALED! Thank You, Jesus for the healing and I know tomorrow I'll be able to make it for badminton session! Thank You!

Went for CF just now. God never fail to amaze me once again.

If any of you feel lonely, discouraged and feel as if no one is there for us, I've got a good news for you. Jesus said, He'll hold us with His hands and walk with us through our thicks and thins (Isaiah 31).

Colossians 1:15-20

15He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

16
For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

17
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

18
And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

19For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,

20
and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

You know, molecular biologists found out that all our cells in our body are held together by this amazing protein by the name of laminin?

Laminin is a protein that is found in every thing living and its role is to hold our cells together. Wikipedia says that improper production of laminin can cause muscle to form improperly, leading to a form of muscular dystrophy.

And do you wanna know how laminin looks like?

I know the molecular form of a laminin looks so familiar. The cross basically represents Christ. Every cells in our body are held together by this molecular, just like Christ. He holds everything together, He holds every cells in your body together!

In Colossians 1: 17, it says "He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together"

Louie Giglio preached bout this before and you can watch it here (strongly recommended).

God is so amazing!

I think I finally understood why Jordin Sparks (or inspired to sing) sung No Air.

... she must have experienced Malaysia's KTM at peak hour. Enough said.

So What Can I Say?

Colin treated Li Anne, Wah and myself to a Japanese restaurant in Klang just now for his farewell. It was such an honour as he came and chauffeured us one by one, took us out for dinner, spent time with us and sent us home. Thanks, bro!

Photobucket

The name of the restaurant is Zushi (or something like that) and its located somewhere near Klang Club. You know, the rows of shops after the Klang Stadium? Somewhere there la, the place is a little hidden. Rare passer-by like us will not know the existence of such good place if Colin didn't bring us there.

Photobucket
Salmon temaki.

The food in this place seriously tastes soooooooooooooooooooooo good. Of course please don't compare them with food from Sushi King or Sakae Sushi la. The taste and freshness -- jauh beza okay! Maybe something like Zan-mai Sushi in Sunway Pyramid?

Photobucket

Like this one, its a new item in the menu and was recommended. The ingredients include soft-shell crab, unagi and tempura shrimps; wrapped with nori (seaweed) and the outer layer is actually a thin-piece of omelet --- no rice! Well recommended!

Photobucket
Sushi platter

The girl who took our order actually recommended JELLY FISH sushi to Mun Wah when she was undecided. She was like, wanna take revenge? LOL

But we didn't order that la. Didn't wanna waste Colin's money on them. Hrm!

Photobucket

The food here could be a little pricey but it worths the value of your money, seriously. Even Li Anne thinks its good (hint: if she thinks its good, its good! --- except for fishes 'cause she thinks all fishes taste good =S)

Photobucket
Don

For example, Katsu Don in Sakae Sushi would costs RM 12.90 for a bowl. Over here, its RM 17 per bowl. With merely an additional of RM 2, you can get a chicken + seafood which includes unagi (eel) and tempura shrimps. And they come in huge bowls you know! I couldn't even finish 1/2 a bowl of this. And the bowl was passed around for all four people!

Photobucket
Maki(s)

The sushi(s) here are really lovely. And they have funny names as well! For example, the one in the middle is known as Klang Maki. I can't find a close enough translation for maki (malay, as in maki-hamun), maybe the direct translation would be Klang scolds? Klang curses? Ah, whatever.

Photobucket
Soft-shell crab maki.

I'd personally feel that this maki would taste even greater without the mayonnaise as the topping, or at least not too much. This is because too much of them would "drown" the original taste of this maki's ingredients. Nevertheless, they still taste goooood!

Photobucket
Takoyaki Octopus balls. Okay, not so obvious here as they're covered by those "mobile" thingy.

I'm you guys would have tried these before, you can even get them from those small stalls selling Japanese snacks outside AEON. They're yummy.

Thank God Colin's has the VIP member card. The total bill still amounts up to RM 131.20 AFTER discount. Four gluttons uh? I repent.

We had to carry our belly back after that =/

For more photos and description, please check out this entry in Li Anne's blog.

BON VOYAGE, COLIN!
Be the top pilot and make us proud okay!

Which one?

There are both sides to everything in our lives. It all depends on how we perceive it. For example, you prolly perceive the photo above as a sunrise. But it could also be a sunset.

As for me, I see it as a sunset now.

Random updates!

This week's my last week of holiday before my semester resumes again. So I have to enjoy it all the more la right?

I love holidays! Well, who doesn't?

Results came out yesterday. I was (still am) on cloud nine! I was focusing so much on my own faith and when I did my devotion the night before the released of results, He reminded me that I should be focusing more on Jesus -- His complete work on the cross and not my own level of faith. This reminder came in so timely. So obvious that He was speaking to me.

That's also when Amy's text message came in, very timely, thanks dear! And Thank You!

I'm black

Went for jogging sessions with xuewen just few days back. And just yesterday evening, she suddenly noticed my ultra-charcoaled calves when I was ahead of her.

Yes, I'm black.

Photobucket
It's not very obvious in this picture.

My legs used to be very fair and people usually make fun of it. For those of you who have seen me in shorts before, I bet you'd say that my legs were never mine (compared to the skin colour of my arms and face). I was told that no blood was flowing in my lower limbs, and some would ask me to sunbathe my lower limbs more.

Well, their wish came true =)

Update: Quite done with the shedding of skin on both my shoulders and arm already. Now, its my lower part of my legs' turn! Ugh. Spare me from the agony man! And the scars of the jelly fish sting is redish and itchy. Slightly swolen.

Photobucket
lower legs

Honestly, when peeling off the skins right, I felt as if I was laminated with a plastic coat. You know, those thin plastic wraps that you use for covering your food? My skin's like that =/

Nasty looking eh?

10th Anniversary ISCF Rally

I can remember myself being the happiest person maybe the second happiest person (after Sabrina) three years back when Jo-anne gave her life to Jesus during the ISCF rally. I can even remember the date -- 2nd July 2005. Tears of joy streamed down my cheeks while hugging her.

Just last year, it was Vivien's turn. She gave her life to Christ, also in an ISCF rally! Both Vy and myself and the rest have been praying for her and with her. I remember a big troop of us joined her and supported when the counselor shared with her. We all said the sinner's prayer together with her!

Now, I'm very excited because tomorrow later will be the 10th anniversary ISCF rally!! It's gonna be different. No more in Hin Hua school halls, no more the normal stuffs. And I believe, God's presence and aura will be so strong that everyone who drives by (or around) that area will be led into the stadium. Mark my words!

Theme: Legacy
Time: 6pm
Venue: Pandamaran Sports Complex, Klang
Date: 12th July 2008 (tomorrow later!!!)

I'm very excited bout it actually.

I wanna see lives saved, lives changed, lives transformed! So, be there! You won't wanna miss a thing! (Those who needs direction there, do buzz me!)

Jesus, I know your work is complete and tomorrow's rally is all about you!

MK, the female pilot (in her dreams)

I'm chatting with Colin right now and he's all excited for his aviation course starting next month. He said he went to check out the place last Monday and he saw a female pilot with two stripes on her shoulder.

C o l i n says (1:27 AM):
imagine you wearing wei.. sure look very smart

C o l i n says (1:28 AM):
with necktie

C o l i n says (1:28 AM):
gaya

I can imagine too! Haha, just kidding! Whoa. I'm so flattered. I always find pilots damn gaya. What more female pilots. WOW! This reminds me so much of my all time favourite TVB drama, Triumph In The Skies. So. the. gaya!!!

But seriously, I've thought of it before, you know. But then again, I'm already done with degree in Biotechnology. And I'm almost done with my degree in Medical BioScience. So, the third degree in aviation?

Stop dreaming la, MK! Wake up!!

---

I think I wanna watch House now (the nocturnal creation's talking). So, I'll see you all there at the stadium tomorrow okay!

I'm scared, very scared.

"Where's thy faith (again), oh cmk?!"

"I don't know."

It will be revealed tomorrow. This semester has been quite a journey, and the going was tough.

"Jesus, help me cling on your promises once again. I thank You for Your favour in my life. I pray and I know that you'll enlarge my territory, and everyone around me will be blessed as well."

There, I silently uttered a prayer.

You're the author and perfector of my faith, and with You, I will press on in my race. Thank You, Daddy.

What In The World!

On my way home after dropping Amelia off just now, Juvee and I witnessed an entire accident (Juvee was busy telling me story that she didn't notice it). Everything happened so fast and everything was so vague.

Basically its something like the above figure. After dropping Amy home, I wanted to take the right turn into Jalan Mengkuang but the traffic light turned red. So I stopped there la (I'm the green X).

The motorcycle (pink) didn't stop (as usual) at the junction and went straight on. It was green light for cars of opposite direction and so happened this car (blue) wanted to make a U-turn (prolly on the way to Esso mamak?)

When the car (blue) was making his u-turn, the motorbike came too swiftly and they had a head-on collision with a very loud bang. The motorbike broke into pieces and flew all over in front of House 1 while the motorbiker was thrown onto the ground and lied at pink X, unconscious and still.

The car (blue) hit and ran, everything happened too quickly (and it was very dark) that I could neither jot down the number plate of the car nor remember what's the car model etc.

I was very shocked and asked Juvee if she saw that. She told me it was green light for us already and at the same time I was trying to show her the casualty that's lying down on the road. Everyone from 'another mamak' came out to help. I took the right turn into Jalan Mengkuang and pulled by the road and told Juvee everything. I wonder if we should turn back to look see how we can help that helpless motorbiker. We then u-turned to the accident place but there was already a huge crowd there, blocking the entire road. I wonder if that motorbiker got killed or not.

At that moment, I whispered a prayer in my heart hoping that the casualty will be fine and alive, also that the hit-and-run driver will take responsibility. We're talking bout lives here weyy! No wonder Yikwooi thinks that life is short (and fragile) and we should make full use of it (and treasure it).

I called Amelia and related the entire thingy to her. We were rather angry at the irresponsible driver and took pity for the motorbiker. But to think bout it again, the motorbiker was also at wrong since it was red light and so he should stop. If he thinks that its fine to go straight, then at least slow down at junctions la! That car was so innocent, he just wanted to make his normal U-turn and suddenly knock into an incoming motorbike -- but at least he should stop and help laa.. and not run away! Ish!

There's nothing that I can conclude here actually. I'm just ranting and not siding anyone. But it was rather horrifying to witness the entire thing all by myself -- no other cars were around.

Latest update:

According to Amy (Hwei Ping told her), the casualty (motorbiker) is a female, she didn't die but serious injury She's in hospital now and hopefully the ER officers can save her. This would be a very heavy lesson for her, that she should obey the traffic. And God was there la because apparently, the car's bumper and number plate dropped off. So, I supposed it's not difficult to track that guy down? =)

EDIT:

Btw,

HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY, EEVON!

Photobucket

Do enjoy your big day! =)

Desquamation.

In my previous entry, I mentioned that I'm burnt and turning into a skin-changing snake soon right?

Photobucket
I'm fair, I know! =P

Notice the skin colour differences between my shoulder and neck? It reminds me so much of my time in NS, during the physical training part. It's undeniable that my skin easily hangus.

Photobucket

And the bad news is, this is just the beginning of the shedding! I wonder how long it'll last =/

Photobucket

Jior! Beh tahan la the itchiness!
